Back from the "dead"

Jeff Irwin of Pataskala, OH is the second owner of this Rampside. Jeff provided the following info in late December, 2005:

"I bought my Rampside in December, 1982. I purchased it from the Pasadena Cemetery in Pasadena, CA. I am slowly getting it put back together. I hope to have it complete for the CORSA convention in 2006.

There is no engine code as this is a replacement block I bought from Clark's in 1988. The case is a 95 HP. It was on the original skid from GM and still had the Cosmoline wrapper on it. The block came with the crank and cam.

The first engine was destroyed while being towed in first gear. This was when I lived in New Jersey. The truck was coming back from the paint shop and one piston went through the top and one through the bottom.

The truck has a 4-speed transmission.

I have been slowly rebuilding everything on the truck. I have upgraded to electric fuel pump, dual brake master cylinder, electronic ignition. I rebuilt the transmission in the last couple of years. I have slowly been doing minor body work and repainting the whole truck. I have finished the interior of the cab. I have discovered the beauty of powder coat for all the sheet metal.

I will send pictures later."

Jeff, sounds like you have been giving the truck some much-needed TLC. Can't wait to see the results!
