This photo shows the front suspension after it was dropped.
Many parts of the car are in excellent shape. The front suspension, however, is in fair
shape. It has quite a bit of surface rust but no serious cancer. We'll have to decide
whether to blast what we have or restore a nice "desert example" if one can be
found. One point of interest is the location of the "hidden VIN". So far we
have not been able to find it. On U.S. late cars, it is hidden by the right side of the
front suspension. We cleaned the area in question but did not see anything. Perhaps the
hidden VIN is a requirement for the U.S. DOT only. |
