Long distance voyager

Rich Shepard, the current owner of this Greenbrier, mentioned a few things about his rig via email:

"It's my old stand-by and has just turned over 3 or 400,000 miles at the first of the year. The current engine is out of my '64 Monza and has over 200,000 miles on it and has never been rebuilt.

I have put 140,000 miles on it myself since I got it from the original ower in Texas back in 1982."

Rich is going to check his rig for the data plate information soon. He mentioned that the "van is stored at work so I can deliver building parts to our erectors in Salem--that is, if they don't fit in the Corsa!"

Hopefully Rich can share more stories about this rig and some photos too!

Information from the data plate

Trim code Description Paint code Description Delivery Date Description
STD Standard 5537AB Light blue, two-tone 11-6-64 November 6, 1964

(Click on a heading in the table for more information on that item.)

It's interesting that the dealer who sold this truck didn't follow the GM guidelines for the date code (month and year). But having the exact day included is nice extra info!
